WWE DVDs... REJECTED!!!
Okay, hey everyone. Many of you may remember this thread in which OO golden
boy Screw Flanders inadvertently started up a funny little game where the more sarcastic among us couldn't help but rattle off the titles
of HORRIBLE ideas for WWE DVDs. DVDs no one would ever buy. Well, in keeping with that concept, I requested the help of some of your forum brethren
(Laner, BigJimJustice and OperationPajamaPants jumped into action) to create what some of these DVDs just might look like. We also threw
in a few of our own for good measure. At any rate, special thanks also go out to Jeb "Starts What He Finishes" Lund for providing the
majority of the inspiration for what we did and to Korrey "No, it's CORY" Harris for laughing out loud at our hard work.
Anyway, Christmas is coming up and the WWE is bound to have a few choice DVDs coming out to try to grab some of your holiday consumer dollars. With
sets like the Flair, Benoit and Guerrero DVDs this past year, WWE has offered up a group of quality products, that any wrestling fan would be proud to
own. But for every hit they produce, there are a handful of misses to go along with it. So without further ado, I present to you:
Rejected WWE DVDs!

Great stuff ^_^ I might buy the UT one just because....
or the Benoit one. I'd be curious how he'd do in a toughguy drama role.
Could we bribe you into making more? Sadly, some of those would sell.......
(Edit: had to request more)

Kane singing Huey Lewis was the last straw. I am clutching my side in pain from the laughter just imagining that.
But then I went to the next page and saw Fruit Booty Private Eye. One of the funniest visuals ever.
The Pete Gas and Mordecai ones were good too. And Motorcycle Maintenance is really funny for some reason.
Main page, please. Or at least a link in an upcoming OO column.

Awesome - I had completely forgotten about these... most of those are side-splittingly funny - and I had a blast doing a few, though my Photoshop
skills are pretty lame compared to Angst and Big Jim... I love how they took sorta funny DVD titles, and turned them into COMEDY GOLD~!
Some minor in-jokes about my own...
A-Train actually *did* receive a butt tattoo at one point (storyline-wise) from Val Venis, I think... I don't remember it, but when I was
googling for A-Train images that little tidbit popped up.
The text on the front of the Ultimate Warrior DVD is a transcript from his last promo prior to Wrestlemania 6... I remember hearing it back in the
day, thinking "WTF is he on about?"
The 'taker DVD uses the actual font from the cover of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", and for whatever reason, the photo at the
bottom right with him holding a puppy always cracks me up.

The puppy IS the best part. I always get a kick out of that when my eye scans over to it. Good job, Laner.

It's good to see these again and I'm glad everyone liked them. My favorites are the Fruit Booty and Ultimate Warrior ones, although Tazz
dropping a bull on the rodeo one still makes me laugh even if I did do that one. I hadn't seen the Pete Gas one, that's awesome!

Forgot to throw out some props to German Suplex with a Bridge Over Madison County, starring Chris Benoit and Meryl Streep.

That's incredible. That HAS to be main-page. HAS TO BE. As his biggest fan, I'd have to buy Sylvain Grenier's Soul Groove (exact
name?)

That Nighttime Prison Rodeo DVD featuring Tazz and Michael Cole is one of my personal favorites.
Oh, and that Benoit one was good too.

I fired off a "hey, what gives?" missive to The Rick. He's actually had all this photoshop stuff for probably over a month. Brad and I emailed
him about it. I think he basically forgot. With all the Abo Karim FOOOOZ shit, plus the headaches brought on by my Rumsfeld column, plus the World
Series and the Presidential election, I get the sensation that this WWE DVD stuff just got swamped in his inbox.
I'm almost positive that it will appear on the main page. I would really like that. For one, I had fun writing the gags I wrote (Jeff
Hardy's X-Treme Backgammon, the Steph Hot Dogs and the Sylvain Grenier Soul Party come to mind). For another, BigJim, Laner, Optard and Brad all
worked really hard to take silly ideas and make them funny visually, too. Finally -- and perhaps most importantly -- I would love for this sort of
"piece" to rope in a diverse audience and possibly 10 or 20 more potential photoshop artists. Though we couldn't go every Friday, like
SomethingAwful.com, we could do these every month or two and start a new wrestling fan institution. I have high hopes.
Thanks, guys! And thanks especially to Brad, who took some good jokes and saw an opportunity to wring more "funny" out of them. You're a
prince.
